Gifts Galore 2018

Help Support your ACA Volunteer League. Please gather some friends for a fun day of great food and shopping. We have 15 local vendors. Bring your Christmas shopping list. Menu includes: Quiche, Omelet Station, Pastries, Deli Board, Bacon, Sausage, Fresh Fruit and one mimosa. We will also have a wine tasting table for your enjoyment!

Trees As Human Experience: Mixed Media Workshop

Come enjoy this visual and narrative mixed media art process workshop using your printed or found tree images, words, collage elements, and memorabilia. Based on either memories of trees, symbols, metaphors, or how you relate to trees in the environment through time. This workshop will include a brief session of forest bathing (shinrinyoku). $45 / ACA members $35. Limited to 12 participants.

Yin Yoga for Creativity

Join Michele Benton, certified yoga instructor, and Soundwalk facilitator, Lady Eve for a unique yin yoga workshop with live music for balancing the energy centers of the body. This in-depth workshop will focus on chakra alignment, using live musical accompaniment and focused sound frequencies to open these energy points. $35 / ACA members $25. Limited to 40 participants.

Beginner’s Mind: Chasing the Censors Away When We Write Poems

Wednesdays, April 3 and April 10, 2019 | 4 PM – 6 PM. Join Florida Poet Laureate for Volusia County, M.B. McLatchey, in this workshop series where poets will practice techniques for chasing away the censors that tell us what we can say or should say in our poems. Come try your hand at writing as “beginners” again, generating poems that take risks and tell truths. All levels of poets are welcome, from new to advanced. Limited to 15 participants. Women’s Creative Wellness Mini-Retreat for Self-Care

Join Rachel Chase, artist and women’s circle facilitator, for a memorable day at the beautiful ACA Dance Studio, filled with natural light, surrounded by trees, peace and quiet, and nestled in a remarkable setting just 10 minutes from the beach! The creative self-care retreat experience supports women on their journey of empowerment, exploring personal intentions, and honoring women’s need for supportive connection. Rachel combines various forms of healing arts for an enriching day of fun and nurturing to activate and energize the passion and peace in our lives. Activities include: mindfulness practices, relaxing gentle physical movements (for all ages and all bodies), sound healing, visual arts activities, mindful walking, and community sharing. Join ACA as we explore the sounds and rhythms of our urban and natural world. Each walk is beneficial for people of all ages to de-stress, focus, and develop a deeper understanding of how we fit into the ecosystem of our environment. Limited to 20 participants.
