Creative Caregiving

Caregiving for a loved one is a journey of joy and difficulty. Join ACA Arts & Wellness ambassadors Vicki Gross (MT-BC) and Ashlee Hughes (MT-BC) as they guide you through creative ways to enhance the quality of your daily routine. In collaboration with the National Center for Creative Aging, ACA uses a series of artistic activities that focus on engaging your care partner through experiences promoting relaxation and discovery. Come learn how to connect mind, body and spirit by using the arts as a tool of self-care, social interaction, and lifelong learning. Refreshments and snacks are provided. Free, and open to caregivers and care partners. RSVP required, limited to 20 participants per session.

Beginner’s Mind: Chasing the Censors Away When We Write Poems

Wednesdays, April 3 and April 10, 2019 | 4 PM – 6 PM. Join Florida Poet Laureate for Volusia County, M.B. McLatchey, in this workshop series where poets will practice techniques for chasing away the censors that tell us what we can say or should say in our poems. Come try your hand at writing as “beginners” again, generating poems that take risks and tell truths. All levels of poets are welcome, from new to advanced. Limited to 15 participants. How I Came to Write About Space Coast Florida: Talk and Reading with Linda Buckmaster

Linda Buckmaster has lived most of her life within a mile of Route 1 – born in Miami, raised on the Space Coast, and living in midcoast Maine the past four decades. In her new book, “Space Heart. A Memoir in Stages”, Linda writes about growing up in the early days of the space industry. This event is free and open to the public.
