About the Community Artist-in-Residence Program
For the past three years Atlantic Center for the Arts has supported Art as Social Practice, Community Engaged Art, Socially Engaged Art, and Live Art with its Community Artist-in-Residence program. Over that time period, ACA has hosted 13 artists for over 80 weeks. During that time they have inspired, engaged, enlivened, educated, and even entertained not only our local community, but a global community as well.
The CAIR artists have worked directly with hundreds of residents in our local community including: children, teenagers, adults, the elderly, the underserved, and others. Their projects have touched the lives of our community and for that we are grateful.
Current CAIR artists Erin Charpentier and Travis Neel will be with us until mid December, after which the CAIR program will be entering a period of hiatus for the year of 2016. Our goal is to revamp, retool, and reenergize the residency to make it even better for the year of 2017.
