Yin Yoga for Creativity

Join Body Dialogue creator, Janice Stieber Rous to recondition and de-stress your body. This two-part series focuses on the importance of breathing correctly and building more robust health. Drawing on the modalities of Alexander technique, breathing coordination, yoga and mindfulness practices, Janice will guide you into a more expressive and expansive experience of your body. Trees As Human Experience: Mixed Media Workshop

Come enjoy this visual and narrative mixed media art process workshop using your printed or found tree images, words, collage elements, and memorabilia. Based on either memories of trees, symbols, metaphors, or how you relate to trees in the environment through time. This workshop will include a brief session of forest bathing (shinrinyoku). $45 / ACA members $35. Limited to 12 participants.

Women’s Creative Wellness Mini-Retreat for Self-Care

Join Rachel Chase, artist and women’s circle facilitator, for a memorable day at the beautiful ACA Dance Studio, filled with natural light, surrounded by trees, peace and quiet, and nestled in a remarkable setting just 10 minutes from the beach! The creative self-care retreat experience supports women on their journey of empowerment, exploring personal intentions, and honoring women’s need for supportive connection. Rachel combines various forms of healing arts for an enriching day of fun and nurturing to activate and energize the passion and peace in our lives. Activities include: mindfulness practices, relaxing gentle physical movements (for all ages and all bodies), sound healing, visual arts activities, mindful walking, and community sharing. Painting Techniques for Expression

Join local artist and expressive arts facilitator Bethany Bennett Behr, MFA to explore acrylic painting techniques with attention to mindfulness and emotional awareness. Learn about color and mood associations, the repetition and meditation of brushstrokes and how to use emotion as fuel for creativity. $45 / ACA members $30. Limited to 30 participants.

Painting for Veterans

ACA Arts & Wellness is proud to support this exhibition by offering a workshop with renowned Florida artist, Joseph Palmerio. This is a unique experience designed for veterans to express themselves using paint and canvas. He looks forward to sharing his experience working with veterans, and comments, “All I ask is that they bring their enthusiasm and we will have a fun and exciting painting event.” Free for veterans / $90 for non-veterans. Limited to 20 participants.

Music & the Mind: Gift of a Lifetime Choir

2nd & 4th Wednesdays, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM, NSB Council on Aging, 2650 N. Dixie Frwy., New Smyrna Beach. Led by registered music therapist Vicki Gross, our community choir invites the participation of care partners, caregivers, and anyone wishing to keep their mind healthy and active. You don’t need to carry a tune, we’re interested in having fun, making memories, and expressing our creativity!

Intuitive Painting and Movement: An Arts and Wellness Retreat

Join ACA Arts and Wellness ambassador, MAAT art therapist, and professional artist, Laura Bohn for an immersive weekend set in a breathtaking environment. Learn how to use relaxation techniques, painting, and movement as a wellness practice. Discover how to let go and have fun exploring colors, symbols, and mark making.
