Fresh Perspectives in Poetry – Part 1

Open to all: poets of all levels who want to try their hand at new techniques – or simply the poetry-curious who want to join us on a journey enjoying some of the most beautiful poetry ever produced! Join award-winning poet and Florida’s Poet Laureate for Volusia County, M.B. McLatchey, for a video series that takes us on a journey of learning from the most notable masters of poetry, from Homer to modern, from sonnet to ode to free-verse, and from America to the world. Based on her popular workshop series at Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA), each of the sessions will focus on different techniques used by the masters, examining not only how they make their poetic forms, but also how they break them! Come discover how a new understanding of the masters, or simply a new visit back to their work, can expand your poetry toolbox and perhaps even conquer writer’s block. Throughout the series, gain tips and techniques to become the master of your own writing. www.mbmclatchey.comFollow link and please take our PRE and POST workshop surveys – https://atlanticcenterforthearts.org/communityprogramsurveys/Funding for this program was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
