Come spend a relaxing day at the beautiful ACA main campus for a one day Arts & Wellness retreat with artist and art therapist, Laura Bohn. In this day-long workshop, we will first align our bodies with gentle yoga before moving into painting, using the wisdom and intuition of a relaxed body and mind. Emphasis will be on continual stretching while painting two paintings at once. Painting more than one canvas at a time allows the artist to not have all their eggs in one basket (so to speak). This is a chance to experiment and explore different ways of painting to move out of your comfort zone and into an authentic painting experience. We will play different styles of music (or you can choose your own with headphones) and see how your mark making responds to the rhythms in the music. We will move into an intention for your painting based on a call and response of what is happening on the canvas. Intuitive painting can help artists when they feel creativity is blocked or when they need a new direction or new series of work.
