Feeling leashed to free verse? Join Florida Poet Laureate for Volusia County, M.B. McLatchey, in exploring how writing in poetic forms can unleash our most authentic voices. Beginners to advanced-level poets are invited to discover how writing in traditional forms such as the ode, sonnet, and even self-invented forms can free us to let our unconscious play a role in our art.

M.B. McLatchey currently serves as one of Florida’s Poet Laureates for Volusia County and is the recipient of the 2011 American Poet Prize. She was recently selected as a Writer-in-the-Spotlight by the national Association of Writers & Writing Programs: https://www.awpwriter.org/community_calendar/spotlight_view/mb_mclatchey.  A widely-published author and the recipient of several national literary awards, including theMay Swenson Award for her book of poems, The Lame God, published by Utah State University Press, M.B. is a professor of Classics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.
