Altered Book as Art Journal Workshop

February 19, 2022, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Free, and open to everyone!
Come turn a book into a personal art journal with artist/art therapist Laura Bohn. We will transform old books and recycle them into personal art expressions that respond to our needs and goals. The goal is to address therapeutic concerns and positive emotions through the pages of your altered book/art journal. Altered books can provide a symbolically layered means of exploring your life, especially when art is made intentionally for growth and wellbeing.

Supply list:Bring in an old hard cover book (about journal size) to transform into an altered book. A book you can fit in your hands and carry easily will work best. Avoid books with slick pages or books that are heavy. Please bring acrylic matte gel medium, scraps of fabric, leather, papers, memorabilia, and other small treasures that might adorn your book covers. Bring words, letters, photocopies, and other images that may end up in your personal journal.

ACA will provide  acrylic paints, aprons, scissors, and brushes. Please bring your own materials if desire.

Pre-registration required. 8-person capacity.  RSVP – coming soon
