What’s this area like?  Atlantic Center for the Arts is in a nature-retreat setting, including board walks and sidewalks (all handicap accessible). Best to wear comfortable shoes, bring bug-spray just in case- although weather should be great and bugs to a minimum. There are also natural trails to walk through.

There are air-conditioned single/double occupancy cabins with your own bathroom/shower; there are cottages for an additional charge, which include bathroom/shower/kitchenette. All other amenities include studio spaces for you to dive deeper into your creative process.

More about housing… For a sneak peek at studios/housing go to this link: https://atlanticcenterforthearts.org/facilities/studios-facilities-housing/

Single/double occupancy

Housing consists of 28 individual rooms divided into two wings. Each unit is equipped with a full-sized bed, work desk, radio alarm clock, small refrigerator and private bath with shower. Bed and bath linens are provided. Housekeeping services are not provided during the residency.

Wireless internet is provided in Associate housing, but the rooms do not have a television or phone. A telephone is available at the Commons for free local calls. A calling card can be purchased in town for long distance or international calls. Coin-operated laundry machines are located by room 15 of Associate Housing, and they cost $1 per machine.

Of the 28 rooms, four are designed to be handicap accessible suites with required accessibility features as well as an extra bed for a caretaker.

The Cottages – additional cost

The 3 one-bedroom cottages, tucked away from the studios, offer privacy and expansive views of nature. These 800 square foot deluxe tri-level cottages boast an open living area with 20 foot ceilings, an elevated kitchen with all amenities including laundry facilities, loft style bedroom and private outdoor deck.
