ACA Community Day

A FREE public family event located on Atlantic Center for the Art’s main campus. Tucked away in 68 acres of pine and palmetto, this wooded, retreat-like environment is home to artist studios and is a special Center for visitors and artists from all over the world. 

This year at Community Day we have Florida Hospital joining us with their CREATION Stations, as well as our varied Arts and Wellness classes for the whole family.

Look forward to a day of storytelling, a take home art project, face painting, and Florida Hospital’s CREATION Health Stations, including Heath’s Health Foods Nutritional Trail Mix station, Move Booth – Picture Station, Hydration Station, Blood Pressure Screenings, Lindley’s Foliage and Landscaping Environment Station, and to top it off a live musical performance by Davey Rocker!

Yoga: All Day, Helene B. Roberson Dance Studio

10:30 AM   Family Fun Yoga

11:15 AM   Demo of Yoga for all body types

12 PM   Slow Flow Gentle Yoga

1 PM   Breathing and Meditation

Music & Storytelling with Ruth Scorgie and Ruth McCormack:  10:30 AM – 2 PM, every 30 minutes on the ½ hour, Hubbard Music Studio

Art & Wellness Activities with ACA Arts & Wellness ambassadors Laura Bohn, Peggy Imbert, and Bethany Bennett Behr: 10 AM – 2 PM ongoing, Charlotte Battle Everbach Painting Studio & Pugh Sculpture Studio

Live Show! Davey Rocker’s Barn Yard Jam:  12 PM – 1 PM, Joan James Harris Theater

Florida Hospital Creation Stations: 10 AM – 2 PM, ongoing

Choice – Registration station, Amphitheater

Rest – Water & Blood Pressure Screening, Field House

Environment – Environment Station, Whatmore Commons

Activity – Yoga, every half hour starting at 10:30 AM, last session 1 PM, Dance Studio

Trust – Trust Station by Atlantic Center for the Arts, Writer’s Studio

Interpersonal Relationships – Storytime with Music & Movement, every half hour starting at 10:30 AM, last session 1 PM, Music Studio

Outlook – Make & Take Art Project by ACA Arts & Wellness Ambassadors, Painting & Sculpture studios

Nutrition – Make a Healthy Snack with trail mix, Whatmore Commons

Face painting: 10 AM – 2 PM, ongoing, Whatmore Commons
