Residency Dates: June 22, 2015 - July 12, 2015
Application Deadline: February 15, 2015
Composer Stewart Wallace is known for his ground breaking operas Harvey Milk, The Bonesetter’s Daughter, Hopper’s Wife, Kabbalah and Where’s Dick? Over his nearly thirty year career, Wallace has collaborated with a diverse group of artists including Michael Korie, Richard Foreman, Christopher Alden, Evelyn Glennie, Marc Ribot and Amy Tan with music in every genre. Performed to sold out houses around the world, his works have been called “brave, bold and important,” “truly staggering,” and “a potent addition to the repertoire, a triumph.” A studio recording of Harvey Milk is available on Teldec. The Bonesetter’s Daughter inspired both a book published by Chronicle Books and a documentary broadcast nationally on PBS. Stewart Wallace was awarded the distinguished Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Yaddo. His music is published and represented worldwide by Schott International.
