“As collaborators, our practice is research based and often site-specific. Recent projects put a fresh spin on notions of exploration and expedition in the twenty-first century. Our methods of investigation reveal a latent irony. We peer curiously at the world at hand, exploiting processes of discovery that seem absurd and humorous. Our end goal is to reveal new micro and macroscopic territories, expose hidden histories, or bring forgotten knowledge to the fore.”

Into the Artmosphere, lecture by Oika’s Rich Blundell

ACA Main Campus 1414 Art Center Ave, New Smyrna Beach

"Into the Artmosphere" is Oika’s core educational program for artists. Throughout 2020 Dr. Rich Blundell is traveling to diverse artistic communities introducing the principles and practices of Oika. Oika teaches artists how to practice ecological intelligence for creative inspiration and gives them the language, concepts, and confidence to publicly communicate the eco-cultural value of their work. Join us for a conversation about ecological intelligence for artists. We'll explore what ecological intelligence is, how artists can experience, access and manifest it in their work. We'll also consider the relationship between art and science, nature and economy. Come explore a larger ecological role for art in contemporary culture.

Free, and open to everyone!
