Capturing the Cosmos: The Impact of Photography in Space Exploration

In cooperation with the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Southeast Museum of Photography presents a special portion of its permanent collection on exhibit for the first time, titled “Capturing the Cosmos: The Impact of Photography in Space Exploration.” This exhibition serves to commemorate the role of photography in space exploration missions piloted by NASA, including visual records of the historic Apollo Program, the first moon landing, and the capture of iconic intergalactic images from the Hubble Space Telescope that illustrate the intrinsic beauty of our universe.

Day of Soundscape II

DeLeon Springs State Park 601 Ponce DeLeon Blvd, DeLeon Springs

Join Atlantic Center for the Arts, Stetson University, and Wild Sanctuary for a Soundwalk at 11 AM, then explore deeper into the inner world of soundscape and field recording with a presentation at DeLeon Springs State Park. This beautiful park contains a natural spring, wooded trails, and a plethora of sounds! Dr. Wolek will enlist the participation of Stetson University students to share the hyperreal resolution of microphones to amplify the soundscape. Jack Hines will be on hand to lead the public in listening awareness exercises and share stories from his many global excursions in sound. RSVP required. Limited to 60 participants. Free with park admission.
