Capturing the Cosmos: The Impact of Photography in Space Exploration

In cooperation with the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Southeast Museum of Photography presents a special portion of its permanent collection on exhibit for the first time, titled “Capturing the Cosmos: The Impact of Photography in Space Exploration.” This exhibition serves to commemorate the role of photography in space exploration missions piloted by NASA, including visual records of the historic Apollo Program, the first moon landing, and the capture of iconic intergalactic images from the Hubble Space Telescope that illustrate the intrinsic beauty of our universe.

Join Atlantic Center for the Arts and Jack Hines for a Soundwalk at 11 AM, then explore deeper into the inner world of soundscape and field recording with a presentation at the Leeper-Schultz House at Canaveral National Seashore. Learn about the history of soundscape ecology in the U.S. National Park Service, and practice listening awareness exercises developed by the Wild Sanctuary team. RSVP required.
