The Healing Arts Homeschool Art Program 2026

Program Components:

The Healing Arts for Homeschool Students combines visual arts, culinary exploration, and dance/ movement to provide a well-rounded, immersive educational experience. The program takes place on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year at ACA’s main campus. The students rotate through three engaging classes, each with a different teacher and theme. This year’s theme is Florida Nature.

Class Rotations:
Students will be divided into three groups and rotate through each session (about 1 hour and 15 minutes each):

Studio Arts – Mary Jo Pingley, Art Teacher
Culinary Arts – Chef Sue Flynn
Movement – Nadine Soldivieri, Instructor

The Healing Arts for Homeschool Students Teachers

Mary Jo Pingley retired to New Smyrna Beach after a distinguished 45-year career teaching at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels. She began as a high school art teacher and went on to earn five teaching degrees, including a master’s degree and certification as a
reading specialist. In retirement, she remains active in the arts community, volunteering with the Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) and creating distinctive paper collages that reflect her lifelong passion for education and the arts.

 

Sue Flynn became a Personal Chef in 2002 after a 30-year career in retail. A member of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA), she earned her certification in 2005. Her lifelong interest in teaching found expression at Atlantic Center for the Arts, where she has led culinary programs including “Food as Art” for middle school students, ACA’s summer art camp, and most recently The Healing Arts for Homeschool Students program (2022–2025).

Nadine Soldivieri is an accomplished performer and teacher with an extensive background in the performing arts. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and has dedicated her career to both performance and education, sharing her passion with students of all ages.

Her training spans a wide range of disciplines, including tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, gymnastics, acrobatics, voice, and theatre. Nadine has had the privilege of studying under many distinguished artists, among them George Tomal (ABT Co.), Carolyn Clark (ABT Co.), Joseph Carow (ABT Co.), Edward Villella (NYC Ballet Co.), Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance), Savion Glover, Omar Edwards (Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk), Robert Fitch (Annie), Frank Hatchett, Germaine Salsburg, Phil Black, and Charles (Chuck) Kelley.
