The Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, Inc.

Atlantic Center for the Arts Announces 2010 Golden Fellowship Recipient

Atlantic Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Bryce Hammond has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Golden Fellowship. The Golden Fellowship is funded by The Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, Inc. through Atlantic Center’s “Advance an Artist” program. This $1,000 fellowship is used to award a scholarship to a talented painter accepted into Atlantic Center’s residency program. The award recognizes the legacy of Sam and Adele Golden, the founders of Golden Artist Colors.

Atlantic Center for the Arts’ scholarships provide direct support for artists to attend residencies and ensure that artistic merit and not financial means is the primary reason for program participation. Through Atlantic Center’s “Advance an Artist” program, a $1,000 contribution will support one artist for one residency. For more information on funding for scholarships, contact ACA’s Director of Advancement at 386.427.6975, ext. 11.

Bryce Hammond will be an Artist-in-Residence with Radcliffe Bailey at Atlantic Center from May 17 through June 6. He has had solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Annapolis, Nashville, Birmingham, and locally in Orlando and New Smyrna Beach. His work has been featured in Art News, Art in America, New American Paintings, Birmingham News, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Black and White Magazine, and LA Times. Hammond’s Tale of Two Cities show in Atlanta recently received a shining review on the front of the arts page in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Atlantic Center for the Arts is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3), interdisciplinary artists-in-residence community and arts education facility dedicated to promoting artistic excellence by providing talented artists an opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world's most distinguished contemporary artists in the fields of music composition and the visual, literary and performing arts. Community interaction is coordinated through on-site and outreach presentations, workshops and exhibitions.
