Residency Statement
I’m am looking for adventurous writers at work on fiction or poetry who want time to both go deeper into current work and to generate new work. I hope to use our afternoon sessions (mornings to write) as a laboratory — experimenting, looking at problems in your existing projects, exploring possible solutions discussion of strategies. There will be a lot of writing and a lot of talking. And then more writing. With three weeks for us to work, there’s room for huge growth. And for taking genuine risks in our work. And with this stretch of time we'll be able form a serious, thoughtful and playful community. We will have individual conferences as needed. I’m interested in our work on every level -- the shaping of sentences, developing and original and true voice and the project’s larger structure. In other words, nothing is too big or too small to concern us as writers.
Application Requirements
Applicants should submit a writing sample of no more than 10 pages of either fiction or poetry, along with a bio or resume and a personal statement describing what you hope to accomplish during this residency.
